Everyone Contributes. Everyone Decides. Everyone Benefits.
At PCMH, our nurses embrace a shared decision-making model. This gives each nurse the ability to participate actively in policy decisions. At PCMH, the nurses themselves are creating a culture where incredible care is nurtured and enhanced through accountability and autonomy. Nursing participation and leadership of our councils and special teams are essential to ensure that the perspective closest to the patient is represented. At PCMH, nurses have a voice. And we listen.

Nurse Executive Council
This council provides strategic and operational direction for nursing, determines how we allocate resources, and enhances the practice of professional nursing. Members of the council include the CNO and nurse administrators.

Nursing Congress
Serving as the decision-making and governing body for nursing, the Nursing Congress provides leadership and direction to the nursing councils. The Congress also serves as a clearinghouse for issues and disseminates assignments to the appropriate Council(s), and develops and oversees the nursing bylaws.

  • Quality Council - Monitors patient care outcomes using evidenced- based practice and processes and initiates performance improvement strategies for the purpose of evaluating the quality of nursing care.
  • Research Council - Provides opportunities to support research activities and establishes a forum for the integration and dissemination of nursing research into practice
  • Professional Practice Council - Uses an evidenced based model to examine nursing practice issues, questions or discrepancies and identifies resources and mechanisms for the development and implementation of best practices in the delivery of nursing care.
  • Professional Development Council -Defines, implements, and maintains educational standards that promote professional growth and ongoing clinical competency.
  • Advanced Practice Council - Provides a forum to facilitate the involvement of advanced practitioners in research, education, quality activities, professional development, and clinical growth. This interdisciplinary council promotes the advanced practitioners role through involvement and decision-making, assumption of accountability for practice, and enhancements of communication. It is the intent of the Advanced Practice Council to assist and guide the transformation of advanced practice and professional performance in nursing care.
  • Retention Council - Plans and implements strategies to increase the well-being, satisfaction, and retention of the best nursing staff for PCMH.
